The culture

Papworth Trusts culture is very much one of putting the customer at the heart of all they do and working together to achieve great outcomes in a supportive environment.

Personal support and development

  • Working in a number of locations across the East of England, and with a range of enabling teams, such as Finance, HR, Policy and Communications, Business Development and IT who support across the organisation.  A diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience is within the organisation and the Leadership Team, which this role is part of, work collaboratively to maximise the benefits of this diversity.
  • Staff have regular one-to-ones with their line manager, a tailored personal development plan, plus opportunities for formal and informal skills development.
  • Papworth Trust is very proud to be a Disability Confident Leader.  Disability Confident compliments the work they do to support organisations and disabled people in the organisation and the wider community they work in.
  • They are delighted to have recently achieved Investors in People Silver accreditation, and are taking part in Best Employers East Region this year for the first time.

Colleague Involvement

They are committed to ensuring all colleagues have a voice and opportunity to support the organisation in its decision making and development - voices are heard through their Employee Forum, Wellbeing Group and Ethics Group:

Employee Forum

Membership is made up of representatives from all areas of the organisation.  The Forum meets monthly to share any ideas and suggestions made in their teams, ensuring management is made aware of these, and is consulted on potential changes and developments.

Wellbeing Group

The Wellbeing Group meets regularly to look at how colleagues can be supported at work, for example through Employee Assistance Programmes, financial wellbeing or support to managers to have meaningful wellbeing conversations, and makes proposals to the Leadership Team for how they can further develop their support.

Ethics Group

The Ethics Group is made up of representatives across the organisation and looks at how to embed Papworth's values in all that they do.  The Group has recently established a set of ethics principles for the organisation and an action plan for how they will continue to build on these principles.
